Receiving AHTA Accreditation for a Horticultural Therapy Certificate Program - Policy and Procedures
Horticultural therapy certificate programs are for college
credit non-degree programs designed to provide a theoretical
foundation in horticultural therapy as a treatment intervention
in the contaxt of multiple health care and social services
settings.
To receive a point credit, a program must submit to the
American Horticultural Therapy Association five (5) copies
of a program proposal for review, a completed application
form, and an application fee. All programs must meet
specific criteria as defined by AHTA in the policies and procedures
document.
Please note that, as of June, 2006, AHTA will no longer be accrediting educational programs (including certificate programs and workshops) that take place outside the U.S. The Board of Directors made this decision based on the difficulty in assessing international applications, due to differences in cultures and educational systems.
If you prefer to have Word documents e-mailed or printed
copies mailed, please contact the AHTA office at: info@ahta.org or call 800-634-1603.
