In this experiential workshop, attendees will explore ways to facilitate successful evidence-ba sed horticultural therapy services through utilizing practices related to t he measurement of client function. Karen Kennedy, HTR and Pam Catlin, HTR e ach have over thirty years of experience in developing and facilitating suc cessful horticultural therapy programs. Training will focus on documentatio n methods from their own practices and those supported by current research. Through lecture, small group work and discussion, participants will learn how to develop tools for identifying and measuring the client outcomes of h orticultural therapy. Instructors: Pamela Catlin, HTR has been working in the field of horticultural therapy since r eceiving her bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in 19 76. She has helped initiate over 50 horticultural therapy programs since st arting in the field. Pam recently retired as Manager of Horticultural Thera py with Adult Care Services in Prescott, Arizona. In addition, she provides private contractual horticultural therapy and serves as a Prescott College mentor in horticultural therapy. She is on the faculty of the Horticultura l Therapy Institute. Karen Kennedy, HTR is active in the field of hor ticultural therapy developing programs and providing services to individual s with a wide variety of disabilities, illness and life situations. After m anaging the Horticultural Therapy and Wellness Program at The Holden Arbore tum for 23 years, Karen now works as a private contractor providing horticu ltural therapy and consulting services, developing educational materials an d teaching.
