About the AHTA 2022 Annual Conference

Renaissance in Bloom: Reimagining and Revitalizing Horticultural Therapy

Join us in Kansas City, Missouri, for the 2022 AHTA Annual Conference. Pre-tours will take place on September 8, followed by the Annual Conference September 9–10. After the events of the past two years when we had to cancel or hold the conference virtually, we are excited to have the opportunity to reconnect, re-vitalize, and re-imagine the work of horticultural therapy.

 **COVID-19 Safety Guidelines**

At the conference, AHTA will be following federal and state CDC guidelines for small and large gatherings. 

We encourage individuals to make the best decision to support their personal well-being and to respect the comfort level of those around you. We suggest following this information on How to Protect Yourself & Otherssourced by the CDC. 

We understand that the COVID situation is still a concern for many, so we will have N95 masks available for those who wish to wear them.

2022 AHTA Conference Keynote Speaker - Abra Lee

Abra Lee is a speaker, writer, and author of the forthcoming book “Conquer The Soil: Black America and the Untold Stories of Our Country’s Gardeners, Farmers, and Growers.” She has spent a whole lotta time in the dirt as a municipal arborist and airport landscape manager. Her work has been featured in publications including The New York Times and Veranda Magazine. Lee is a graduate of Auburn University College of Agriculture and an alumna of the Longwood Gardens Society of Fellows, a global network of public horticulture professionals.

2022 AHTA Conference Plenary Speaker - Ashley Williamson

Ashley brings local and international experience in program development, community engagement, and research. She has a Master in Social Work Advocacy, Policy and Administration and is passionate about connecting people, ideas and policies. A dedicated Kansas City community member, Ashley is currently a Public Director for the AIA (American Institute of Architects) Board, on the Public Policy Committee of the LGBT Chamber of Commerce, a core member of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Young Farmers Coalition, and a steward of the Fisher Park Orchard in her neighborhood, Rosedale.
