AHTA 2026 Annual Conference

Thriving in the Grove: Building Resilience Through Horticultural Therapy

The AHTA Annual Conference brings together horticultural therapy professionals, students, and supporters to learn, connect, and collaborate.

Through shared expertise, meaningful dialogue, and innovative practices, the conference highlights the power of activity-based engagement with plants and nature to support healing, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

This year's conference brings us together in California, a state shaped by resilience.

Its landscapes embody the strength, renewal, and adaptability at the core of our work.

This year’s conference invites us to explore how horticultural therapy helps individuals and communities grow, heal, and thrive.

Inspire. Educate. Lead.

AHTA invites professionals engaged in horticultural therapy and therapeutic horticulture—including researchers, educators, practitioners, students, and allied professionals—to submit proposals for presentations, workshops, and experiential sessions at our upcoming in-person conference.

This year’s conference centers on building resilience through horticultural therapy—the capacity to respond to adversity, adapt to change, and grow stronger individually and collectively. Together, we will explore how horticultural therapy supports resilience not only within individuals, but also within organizations, systems, and communities.

We welcome proposals that reflect this theme through research, case studies, best practices, and lived experience. Sessions may take the form of presentations, interactive workshops, panels, and poster presentations that foster connection, collaboration, and community among participants.

Our goal is for attendees to leave feeling inspired, connected, and equipped with tangible tools to strengthen resilience through horticultural therapy.
