Additional Education Requirements
Horticultural therapy is more than than just therapy or horticulture.
As the name implies, horticultural therapy requires expertise in two seemingly unrelated fields of study. Becoming credentialed as an HTR, or soon-to-be HT-BC, means that you've committed to becoming a well-rounded horticultural therapist. In addition to the accredited certificate program you'll have to meet the requirements for education in both human services and horticulture. The combination of the certificate program and these additional classes truly set your skills and abilities apart in the field horticultural therapy profession. Regardless of the background you have before pursuing AHTA credentials, you'll be able to be a capable and confident horticultural therapist.
